Beard Trim & Shape
Clean cheek lines. Defined neckline. Beard oil for the road.
About this service
A great beard trim is sculpture, not maintenance. At Love Thy Barber, every beard service starts with a soften step — warm towel, beard oil, and a comb-out — so the hair lays the way it actually grows. Then Sammy cuts the bulk down with scissor-over-comb and trimmer work, defines the cheek line and neckline, and finishes with a straight razor for crisp edges.
A second hot towel and a finishing beard oil leave you with a beard that looks intentional, feels softer, and grows out evenly between visits.
Who it’s for
Anyone who wears a beard and wants it to look intentional — short stubble, full beard, classic mustache combos, or chin-strap shapes. Pairs beautifully with a Classic Cut or Fade for a top-to-bottom refresh.
What to expect
- 1
Hot Towel Soften
A warm towel, pre-shave oil, and a thorough comb-out so every hair lays the way it actually grows.
- 2
Bulk & Shape
Scissor-over-comb and trimmer work to take the length down evenly and define the overall shape against your jawline.
- 3
Define Lines
Straight razor work along the cheek line, neckline, and mustache for crisp edges that frame your face.
- 4
Finish
Second hot towel, beard oil, and a comb-through so you leave smelling great and looking sharp.
How long it lasts
A beard shape-up holds for 2–4 weeks depending on growth speed. Most clients rebook every 3 weeks alongside their haircut.
Aftercare
- ✓Apply beard oil daily to soften the hair and condition the skin underneath.
- ✓Comb your beard once a day with a wide-tooth comb to train growth direction.
- ✓Wash 2–3 times a week with a beard wash (regular shampoo is too drying).
- ✓Trim stray flyaways at home, but leave the cheek and neck lines for the next visit.
Common questions
How short can the beard be for a shape-up?+
Anywhere from a few days of stubble to a full grown-out beard works. Even short stubble benefits from a defined cheek line and neckline.
Do you do beard color or beard fades into the haircut?+
Yes — the haircut and beard can be blended into a continuous fade for that seamless look. Mention it when you book and we’ll allow extra time.
Can I add a beard trim to my haircut?+
Absolutely. Adding a beard trim to a Classic Cut or Fade is the most-requested combo at Love Thy Barber — book both services in the same appointment.
